The portrait was built entirely from typeset words — campaign copy, programme themes and product terminology composed pixel-by-pixel into the structure of the face. Bayer’s involvement was in the supply of insecticide-treated bed nets; the African subject was a deliberate framing, the work made for the population the programme was intended to reach.
Produced as a hi-definition lenticular print. 1,200 individual frames were composed at full resolution and interlaced into a single layered print — a frame count that gives the finished surface a near-continuous horizontal pan of the face rather than the toggle-effect of low-frame lenticulars. Copy was hand-placed at high resolution to survive the interlace without breaking the typographic legibility of any frame.
